Dear friends

With the huge natural disasters besieging our nation so far in 2011 it is little wonder that many are feeling overwhelmed.

Over 7 billion tonnes of rain fell in South East Queensland causing massive flooding. Other states have had to brace themselves against their own deluges which even the secular press described as being of 'Biblical proportions'.

Cyclone Yasi has just caused a path of destruction in Queensland's far north coast. Towns in other states have battled bushfires, destructive dust-storms and wild weather.

We are truly living in turbulent and uncertain days! Could these signs of the times be the birth pangs that Jesus forewarned us would indicate the generation just before His return?

Whatever is going on in our world, our hope remains in God! Yet there are times we all need extra support. It is at such a time as this many turn to UCB's ministry for hope and encouragement.

While these disasters may not have directly impacted everyone, the flow-on effect reaches us all. That is why when I recently came across a new book by a good friend of ours, Rick Dunham, I thought of you.
