CEO Letter

Ian WorbyEach month I have the privilege of writing to UCB’s friends. Some month’s I’ll share what God has specifically placed on my heart, other times I will tell about the things we can celebrate and the challenges we are about to face.

You’ll find my latest letter below and, by using the links at the bottom of this page, you can access previous month’s letters.

I pray they encourage you in your faith as you read them.

God Bless

Ian

December 2011

'On coming to the house, they saw the child with His mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.'  Matthew 2:11 NIV

Ian WorbyDear Friends,

2011 has been a fantastic year where, by God’s amazing grace, we have been able to loudly broadcast the Gospel with ever increasing range to people all across Australia.

As we finish up 2011 and head into 2012 we echo Drew Cline’s words in Great Big God (on Vision) where he sings: You are beginning and end, Still You are my Saviour and Friend, You are the Ancient of Days, And I stand amazed of who You are.

November’s Visionathon brought home once again just how important the Vision radio and The Word for Today ministries are to you and thousands of people all across Australia. We heard testimony after testimony as people phoned in to our appeal of how our broadcasts are meeting their needs spiritually, challenging them to grow and go deeper into God’s Word.

I loved the way we were able to highlight King James and the legacy of the King James Bible. By taking advantage of the new and revolutionary technology of his age—the printing press—King James opened the door to ‘broadly cast’ the truth of the Word of God via the emerging mass media of the time.

Today, using new and revolutionary technologies, UCB is also building a legacy through broadcasting the truth of God’s Word via trusted mass media.  Our cities are big but our nation is also filled with rural communities where Christian fellowship is rare and treasured. Your support means that Vision, The Word for Today, word4U2day and PrayForMe are there for them too.

So thank you!  On behalf of all our listeners and readers thank you for making it possible to reach more and more people and places in our sunburnt country. Thank you for your gifts, thank you for your prayers and thank you for your kind words and encouraging us with your story about the greatness and faithful provision of God.

From our family to yours we wish you God’s richest blessing and His peace this Christmas.

Ian Worby
